Communicating with government can be hard; so hard that most people just can’t be bothered.
I really suggest you download this app.
Back in 2015 I wanted the City to create a ‘Report It’ app so that people can easily take a picture and send it, with automatic location points, to the City. In the end we liaised with WALGA who were looking at developing an app – Localeye. I feel the WALGA app sacrificed simplicity for information overload and has never been that popular; I even think it may have been closed due to the running costs.
My investigations back in 2015 showed that any reporting apps in existence were expensive to the local government which had to pay a subscription. The good news is that last week I had a resident forward communication with the city over some illegal dumping, and the resident used Snap Send Solve to initially make contact about the dumping.
Snap Send Solve is free to all local governments, and also users. The local government can pay a subscription which offers additional features ($660 p/mth ex-GST for Bayswater’s size), but the core functionality works well without the subscription.
So please, download the app and if you see something amiss, you can report it to the City of Bayswater in, literally, a minute. The app locates where you are and sends it to the relevant local government.
Use it for things like this …
Not what the cheeky Perth Voice suggested when I raised this in 2015 …
Power to the people.
