I am pleased to see the City of Bayswater show leadership and reaffirm their support of the Local Government Reform.
“Mayor Albert said the Premier’s choice of words that he had raised the white flag on local government reform was unfortunate, as it was unclear if he was only referring to the amalgamations that were rejected in the recent polls or included boundary changes too.
“The City has supported local government reform since 2008, as we believe it will deliver a good outcome for all of the communities concerned.
“There is a close fit between Bayswater and Bassendean and I would like to the boundary change move ahead.
Mayor Albert said now was the time for the State Government to step up and demonstrate strong leadership on local government reform, “Reform is long overdue and needs to happen.””
I couldn’t agree more.
